Oasis- Natural Parks- Marine Area

 

At the exit of Tortolì is the Park San Salvatore.

It's not really a natural park, but a tourist resort where you can admire ancient nuragic constructions dating from the prehistoric age. Nuraghi are Tower shaped buildings that date from 2000 years had meant both a.C.e defensive homeowner. Their name is derived from the primitive locals that indicated with Nur heaps of hollow shaped stones.

Every summer in the port of Arbatax is organized a review of Blues Music called red rocks, named, as we said, from local rocks.

Monuments, Museums

 

In the Centre of town is the Cathedral of Tortolì, the Church of Sant'Andrea, Protector of the city,that in 1832 was hit by the flooding of the rio Foddeddu, a small stream in the area.

This church dates from the eighteenth century and the predominant style is Baroque.

Inside, divided into 3 naves, There are numerous works of art, Besides the marble altar, raised slightly.

In the area of the port of Arbatax are the other two monuments, two towers: the Spanish Tower of San Miguel and San Gemiliano, located on opposite sides of the headland and constructed for military purposes, defensive back in the seventeenth century-.

The beaches

 

The fame of Sardinia tourism is certainly due to the beauty of its sea and its beaches, unique not only in Italian but generally throughout the Mediterranean.

Tortoli, with its long beaches of granite, couldn't be outdone.
