We are in the locality Dorgali, where beauties follow one another naturally, inhabiting the impervious and wild rocky walls that form a wonderful backdrop to the cobalt blue sea. The cave that dot the rock are truly numerous and almost all of them owe their name to the now rare, according to some exiles monk seal, which in the past was certainly more common along the coast. Among these enchanted caves, that of the Marino Ox, 5 km long and divided into its mysterious branches. It can be visited on guided tours, equipped and illuminated to enjoy a perfect view, for an excursion 900 meters long. You discover a whole world apart when you start your journey. By feeding the southern branch you will be surprised by a large gallery, where the sea water penetrates slippery, here and there interrupted by puddles sweets, fed by underground rivers and divided into exceptional underground sandy beaches. The situation is different for the north branch, instead it has become fossilized due to the now dead karst activity within it. Only the southern branch will clearly be open to visitors, and exclusively through a guided tour, given the precious natural artefacts kept inside the cave. We are referring to precious stalactites and stalagmites that magically light up , enjoying the beam of artificial light, and nestling around the underground salt lake over a kilometer wide. If nature hasn't surprised enough, the dozen dancing figures engraved on the walls will take care of it by Neolithic man, which still seem vivid and fresh. Lexcursion it lasts no more than thirty minutes but will be unforgettable. It will end in beauty Seals beach, where it is said the monk seal used to give birth.
We remind you that the caves can only be reached by sea, from various locations. There are also various itineraries that follow tourist operators offer to the visitor, so it is possible once you have visited the natural inlet, repeat the excursion. Normally the itineraries include the most beautiful beaches in the area, and they are really numerous.
