The Montarbu forest extends for 2765 hectares, the Flumendosa river separates the forest from the large Gennargentu massif.
In the central part there is a thousand meter high plateau, the rest is sown with heels and between them there are valleys with surreally colored streams.
Depending on the location and terrain the vegetation can change,in the lower areas you can find the usual Mediterranean scrub typical of Sardinia, higher up among the peaks, evergreen shrubs and conifers grow.
