The Su Marmuri cave is located in the Ulassai territory, si sviluppa nel tacco del medesimo paese con l’;apertura ad un’;height of 880, reachable after a path between gorges, heels and a long staircase.
It owes its name, which in Sardinian means marble, per l’;aspect that the limestone rock has and can be visited for 850 metres. Caratteristica della grotta è l’;height of the rooms, where in some places it reaches 70 meters, there are two lakes and numerous and imposing stalagmites, stalactites, columns and splash.
The Great Hall is the largest,72 meters long and 30 meters wide, poi c’;è la sala dell’;Organ so called since the formations are similar to the pipes of an organ, the Cactus room, so defined due to the presence of enormous stalagmites that recall the succulent plant, and finally the Bat room, habitat della più grande colonia Sarda durante l’;winter.
